I just finished sending off the first week of twitter bounties for our winter twitter campaign. You can check out the tweets and transaction details over on this page if you are interested. Thanks to everyone that participated so far.
We are happy to announce the Moin Movement Twitter campaign for winter 2017. People have been looking for ways to spread the word about MOIN and the idea was suggested we could give away some MOIN to people who help raise awareness of the coin on Twitter! It should be a lot of fun. Details are below. Twitter Campaign Details
So How Do I Get Started?Get on Twitter and start tweeting about MOIN. Be sure to inlude $MOIN in your tweet so that we can find it and it is eligible for rewards. Make sure you follow @MoinMovement and @MoinCrypto and also be sure we can direct message you from the MoinMovement account for your wallet address payment details. If you want to be really proactive you can send your wallet address for your rewards in a DM to @MoinMovement whenever you want. Also wanted to share this cool 3D print of the MOIN logo from another MOIN community member on IRC
Forum Discussion About MOINX ChainA MOIN community member asked an interesting question on bitcointalk the other day. The question was regarding the MOINX chain, which is MOIN's stealth addressing system inherited from Shadow. Here is a link to the specific question and KingCaper's answer on the bitcointalk forum. The takeaway here is that in order for the MOINX feature to be fully functional we needed more outputs available, which meant we needed more people to test it out by converting MOIN to MOINX. I played around with converting some MOIN and it was very intersting to see how the software breaks apart different sized conversions so it can build a variety of different size transactions later on. You can look at the available outputs on the MOINX Chain tab of the wallet. It was around then that it occured to me perhaps converting some of the Moin Foundation Funds MOIN to MOINX would be a perfect way to help the network with some of the raised MOIN..... Converting Some Of The Fund To MOINXAfter a brief discussion it was clear that converting some of the fund's MOIN to MOINX would help the network and had no real downsides, especially since the MOINX could be converted back to MOIN if for some reason it really needed to be. With this in mind I proceeded to convert 47777.666619 of the foundations MOIN to MOINX. That leaves us with about 42840.19894161 MOIN in the fund. It really helped diversify the avialable outputs on the MOINX chain and I think was a great success. I took a few screenshots for proof that I posted over here on the Moin Conversion page, but really the best proof of this event is the large increase in available outputs on the MOINX chain.
We have a winner!Ok the July raffle has come to an end. I want to thank all the participants and express a big congrats to the winner. The raffle raised a total of 20600 MOIN for the foundation. You can check out the details of the drawing over at the July 2016 raffle page.
-Jookly Hello!
"Love life let it love you back" - Aceyealone
Heyo! Been a minute since I updated the webpage but I assure you it is not due to lack of things happening in the MOIN world. Here is an update on what has been going down.
Version 1.1.0.0 and POSv3
The switch to POSv3 has come and gone without much fanfare. It seems that everything is working really well. The rate of interest is now 10% which puts each reward right around 1.3 MOIN. Check out KingCaper's post on it @ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1237881.msg15067044#msg15067044
Proof Of Existence
King Caper, he is the MOIN developer for those that don't know, announce that he is working on a new feature for MOIN called proof of existence. What this allows a person to do is create a permanent record on the blockchain which can prove a certain document existed at a date in time. Check out his post which includes a short preview of the interface @ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1237881.msg15409059#msg15409059
Livecoin
MOIN was listed on a new exchange called livecoin.net . It is good when an altcoin gets listed on new exchanges because it exposes the coin to a new audience and can lead to arbitrage opportunities and higher liquidity within the altcoin market. People interested in trading MOIN on ANY exchange should remember to use caution and realize that there is always a risk involved with sending your coins to a wallet you do not own the private key for.
SSD Raffle #2
Time to get this second SSD raffled off. It is identical to the first one in stats. It is a Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 250BG SATA 3 drive brand new in the box. Check out the newraffle page for information about that.
Moin Movement Meeting... MMMM
It would be great to get more people directly involved with Moin Movement. I would like to propose that we have a monthly Moin Movement Meeting where we can discuss ideas for projects and also just get to know each other as a community. I do not have a date in mind for the first meeting yet but my intention is to talk to some of the community members, get a time that at least some can attend, and then announce the official time. Will post again soon.
-Jookly Today we see KingCaper getting a MOIN template onto Azure. This makes it extremely easy for people to spin up a MOIN node. Check it out @ https://github.com/Azure/azure-quickstart-templates/pull/1490
We are also happy to announce the beginning of the HD raffle. Goto the Hard Drive Raffle page for more information. Yep they are here looking bright and nice. I have setup a page on this website for people to buy them. All funds collected will go into the Moin Movement Fund. These funds will be used for future Moin Movement community projects. An initial donation of 5000 Moin has been made to the fund. The address for the fund will be MfENYsNCGq2J2UiNeRpLUoZiSvZz9zJkFo.
The rate for getting the stickers will be pegged at 1000 Moin per sticker to start. If a person needs to market buy in order to obtain the Moin they need to buy stickers then the average purchase price of their Moin will be the rate they get the Moin at. They will just need to provide proof of purchase at a certain rate to receive that. |
