I just forgot to make a "blog post" about it. You know where the details are
Just finished sending out week two bounties. As usual the details are over on the payout info page. Thanks for all the great participation this week!
Forum Discussion About MOINX ChainA MOIN community member asked an interesting question on bitcointalk the other day. The question was regarding the MOINX chain, which is MOIN's stealth addressing system inherited from Shadow. Here is a link to the specific question and KingCaper's answer on the bitcointalk forum. The takeaway here is that in order for the MOINX feature to be fully functional we needed more outputs available, which meant we needed more people to test it out by converting MOIN to MOINX. I played around with converting some MOIN and it was very intersting to see how the software breaks apart different sized conversions so it can build a variety of different size transactions later on. You can look at the available outputs on the MOINX Chain tab of the wallet. It was around then that it occured to me perhaps converting some of the Moin Foundation Funds MOIN to MOINX would be a perfect way to help the network with some of the raised MOIN..... Converting Some Of The Fund To MOINXAfter a brief discussion it was clear that converting some of the fund's MOIN to MOINX would help the network and had no real downsides, especially since the MOINX could be converted back to MOIN if for some reason it really needed to be. With this in mind I proceeded to convert 47777.666619 of the foundations MOIN to MOINX. That leaves us with about 42840.19894161 MOIN in the fund. It really helped diversify the avialable outputs on the MOINX chain and I think was a great success. I took a few screenshots for proof that I posted over here on the Moin Conversion page, but really the best proof of this event is the large increase in available outputs on the MOINX chain.
Time just slipped right past us and now here in the northern hemisphere it is winter. Sorry not sorry for the lack of updates :-p . Just been busy with work and whatnot. But how are things in MOIN world? Let's take a look. MOIN v1.1.0.1In September KingCaper relased the v1.1.0.1 update. It is a recommended update so if you are still on the older version consider this a reminder to go ahead and update your wallet. You can see the post on bitcointalk about the update by clicking here. Happy Birthday MOIN!Did you know Moin had its first birthday!!??!? Well it did! Happy birthday to MOIN! It has been over a year now since MOIN began its swap to the new chain. Check out KingCaper's update to the community about the year here. Long live MOIN! The Network Chugs AlongThe blockchain continutes to run smoothly. KingCaper recently dropped a fresh bootstrap to help people synch faster. The post with that is over here. Stickers still plenty of 'em! Ideas for next project?Just wanted to remind everyone that you can get pretty sweet MOIN stickers right here on this website and pay in MOIN. The stickers are 250 MOIN a piece and I'll ship them to you no matter where you are as long as it isn't some absurd expense. More info about that over on the Sticker Page . All MOIN collected goes to the Moin Foundation funnd. The fund is looking pretty nice at this point. If anyone has any ideas for other ways to raise MOIN for the foundation or even ways to use the MOIN we have raised give me a shout
We have a winner!Ok the July raffle has come to an end. I want to thank all the participants and express a big congrats to the winner. The raffle raised a total of 20600 MOIN for the foundation. You can check out the details of the drawing over at the July 2016 raffle page.
-Jookly Hello!
"Love life let it love you back" - Aceyealone
Heyo! Been a minute since I updated the webpage but I assure you it is not due to lack of things happening in the MOIN world. Here is an update on what has been going down.
Version 1.1.0.0 and POSv3
The switch to POSv3 has come and gone without much fanfare. It seems that everything is working really well. The rate of interest is now 10% which puts each reward right around 1.3 MOIN. Check out KingCaper's post on it @ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1237881.msg15067044#msg15067044
Proof Of Existence
King Caper, he is the MOIN developer for those that don't know, announce that he is working on a new feature for MOIN called proof of existence. What this allows a person to do is create a permanent record on the blockchain which can prove a certain document existed at a date in time. Check out his post which includes a short preview of the interface @ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1237881.msg15409059#msg15409059
Livecoin
MOIN was listed on a new exchange called livecoin.net . It is good when an altcoin gets listed on new exchanges because it exposes the coin to a new audience and can lead to arbitrage opportunities and higher liquidity within the altcoin market. People interested in trading MOIN on ANY exchange should remember to use caution and realize that there is always a risk involved with sending your coins to a wallet you do not own the private key for.
SSD Raffle #2
Time to get this second SSD raffled off. It is identical to the first one in stats. It is a Samsung 850 EVO 2.5" 250BG SATA 3 drive brand new in the box. Check out the newraffle page for information about that.
Moin Movement Meeting... MMMM
It would be great to get more people directly involved with Moin Movement. I would like to propose that we have a monthly Moin Movement Meeting where we can discuss ideas for projects and also just get to know each other as a community. I do not have a date in mind for the first meeting yet but my intention is to talk to some of the community members, get a time that at least some can attend, and then announce the official time. Will post again soon.
-Jookly Today we see KingCaper getting a MOIN template onto Azure. This makes it extremely easy for people to spin up a MOIN node. Check it out @ https://github.com/Azure/azure-quickstart-templates/pull/1490
We are also happy to announce the beginning of the HD raffle. Goto the Hard Drive Raffle page for more information. Swap UpdateHello out there Moin friends. A few pieces of information about Moin to share today. First up is a post by Moin devloper KingCaper on bitcointalk reminding the community that the swap is winding down and that on March 7th 10% of the swap fund will be burned and the swap rate will be reduced to 1:9. Check out the post here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1237881.msg14047463#msg14047463 Added To Coin GeckoMoin was added to Coingecko this week and so now you can get market information about moin at https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/moin . One cool thing about their site is they provide a widget for the coins listed there so now we can have that here in the footer. Bam! Kicked up a notch. Moin Movement Twitter CreatedI went ahead and created a twitter account for Moin Movement! That way I can post about this blog post on there and post about the tweets I do here in the blog. I think if everything is timed correctly space time might fold in on itself and we will be left with one very delicious treat. In case that doesn't happen though the twitter page will still be a good place to get Moin information. You can find it @ www.twitter.com/moinmovement
